David Amponsah, M.D.
David Amponsah M.D., is the Emergency Medicine Ultrasound Division Head at the Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, MI. He is also an Assistant Clinical Professor of Emergency Medicine and Undergraduate Ultrasound Curriculum Director at the Wayne State University School of Medicine (WSUSOM).
He has been involved in ultrasound education since 2000, and has developed a longitudinal ultrasound curriculum together with Scott A. Dulchavsky MD, PhD, which has been successfully integrated into the medical school curricula at WSUSOM since 2006.
He also started the EM Clinical Ultrasound Fellowship Training Program at the Henry Ford Hospital, and the first in the State of Michigan in 2010. He received his undergraduate degree in Biochemistry at UCLA, and a medical degree at the University of Illinois. He completed his Emergency Medicine residency training at the Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, where he also works as senior staff physician.
